William G Baker, JR. Memorial Fund - The William G. Baker, Jr. Memorial Fund was established in 1964 by Mary S. Baker in memory of her husband. Awarding grants to support arts and culture that range from $1,500 to $45,000, the Baker Fund continues its founders’ civic-minded philanthropic tradition benefiting the residents of the greater Baltimore area. The Baltimore Community Foundation has managed the Baker Fund’s grants program since 1985. Cultural organizations (or their fiscal agents) serving the Baltimore area must qualify as public charities under section 501(c)(3). Typical Grants are for $10,000.
The Baltimore Office of Promotion & The Arts (BOPA) announces the Municipal Art Society of Baltimore City Community Arts Matching Grant, sponsored by the Municipal Art Society of Baltimore City (MASB). The purpose of the MASB Community Arts Matching Grant is to focus on building a beautiful Baltimore by strengthening the vitality and sustainability of arts projects in communities across the city. MASB offers matching grant funds for artists to activate or expand community engagement with a public art project that will continue to stimulate interest in art in the City of Baltimore and to encourage an appreciation for contemporary art that is openly accessible to all. The MASB Community Arts Matching Grant supports independent artists and small organizations with an artist-led project by providing matching funds up to $10,000 per project.
Public art builds community and invites people to explore their environment and celebrate their city. The Community Arts Grant awards funding to Baltimore City artists and neighborhoods who work together to creatively reimagine and enliven public spaces through new, exterior wall mural art projects. The artist-neighborhood collaborative projects must be free and open to the public and exist in outdoor, publicly accessible spaces. Typical grants awards are $16,000.

In the realm of arts and culture, it seemed appropriate to share the work Shift Capital, Cross Street Partners, and others are doing at the old Crown Cork & Seal building to create a unique live + make + play destination that feeds the creative economy, preserves affordability, & integrates a diverse mix of complementary & community experiences, serving 135 artists, makers, creative manufacturers and producers along with additional artist studio space.
