If your business was directly impacted by Hurricane Helene, Appalachian Community Capital is releasing grant money to help!
Grants up to $25,000 are available to eligible small businesses located in Western North Carolina.
Small businesses can use the grants to cover expenses related to recovery and reopening in the wake of Hurricane Helene. Eligible uses include repair and replacement of physical damage, environmental cleanup, payment of business-related rents or mortgages, employee retention and hiring, and more.

The Southern Black Girls and Women's Consortium (Southern Black Girls) has announced a special cycle of the #BlackGirlJoyChallenge in partnership with Grammy award-winning musician, entrepreneur, and philanthropist Megan Thee Stallion's Pete and Thomas Foundation.
Southern Black Girls created the #BlackGirlJoyChallenge to introduce the concept of joy as a vital component of mental health and self-care for young girls, and the initiative awards micro-grants to applicants who have compelling and creative ideas to spread joy and positivity within their communities. The collaboration aims to empower and uplift young Black girls and gender-expansive youth across the southern United States, promoting mental health and wellness by celebrating joy. The program will award 100 micro-grants of $550 to young girls and gender-expansive youth, between the ages of 12-24, across the southern United States.
To be eligible, applicants must reside in the 13-state region of the southern United States, including Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, East Texas, Tennessee, West Virginia, and Virginia.

The Health Foundation is excited to share that our Homegrown Health Mini Grant Program is now open for applications. This grant program supports projects that focus on healthy eating, active living, mental health, and resiliency that are tailored to our community needs. Awards range from $250 - $2,500 with a due date of June 14th. If you can't make this deadline, another round of applications will be due on September 30th. Please feel free to share with others who may be interested.
