About

At Weave: the Social Fabric Project, we call people who build social trust in their communities β€œweavers.” On April 4, 2023, Jeudy Mom from Compton, CA shared his story. Jeudy was 8 when his family fled Cambodia as refugees. The care his family received when they landed in California led him to pay it forward through a career of mobilizing neighbors to support each other in reducing homelessness, increasing safety, fighting racism, and more.

Jeudy.  It is good to see you and what you are doing.  I lived in San Pedro nearby in the early 70s.  I was with the US Army Band, LA as a musician back then.  Since then we have ended up in Logan , UT where we interact with international students at Utah State U on a weekly basis.   We have kids from Syria and Vietnam who we have informally adopted, and now international grandkids.  We like the idea of being international weavers.  It makes for a very large and beautiful rug .  Hope we can meet someday.
