On Tuesday, April 25 the Upswell Pop-Up, βFill Your Cup: Changemakers Recharge,β puts the importance of caring front and center to avoid βburnout" and support wellness among our colleagues and in neighborhoods and communities we serve.
Following our Main Stage on the importance of being intentional about self-care to bring joy and abundance to our work, our Pop-Up Workshop will explore the importance of developing trust as the bedrock of community strength to amplify caring in our communities.
During the workshop, three Aspen Institute Weavers and Weave Community members will share their experiences in very different communities and guide you to explore how to build and support an ethic of caring among neighbors. You'll hear from:
- Dylan TΓͺte, Founder of Bastion Community of Resilience in New Orleans, an intentional community in the city to support veterans suffering from brain trauma and PTSD.
Muffy Mendoza, CEO of Brown Mamas in Pittsburgh, a network of 6,700 moms in the Pittsburgh area that offers in-person and online connection, support, and mentoring.
Rajiv Mehta, CEO and Founder of Atlas of Care, which studies well-being and belonging and has guided corporate executives, health professionals, military commanders, and social activists in recognizing and adopting the fundamentals of care.
Taking care of ourselves and communities is not just a personal responsibility, but also a professional one tied closely to our ability to achieve our missions.
