I live in Wichita Falls, TX.   I have been asked to lead in opening an Black History Library in our city.  I have never done this sort of work before, but strongly believe it is important to do, especially at this juncture in our history.  I need some help with how to set up a nonprofit entity and how to apply for national grants.  The lady who initially asked me to do this is a senior citizen who purchased a commercial building that she wants to have made into a library.  My strength is in setting up programs and events, as well as organizing the visual impact of the space.

I am presently planning an information luncheon with local people where I will share with them the vision of what we want to do.  I am hoping to get them on board to serve in leadership roles as well.  If there is anyone here who can help guide me through this process or share resources with me.  I am looking forward to hearing from you guys with good information.

You're doing incredible work, @Starkovich Forster!! I love the resources that @Ardell Broadbent shared! Here are a few more:

- Free online course on How to Start a Nonprofit through the Weave Learning Center

- Free online course on How to Pitch your Nonprofit through the Weave Learning Center

- @Anna Taylor made this post about an incubator program for early stage nonprofits. Looks like they will open up another cohort later in the spring!

Best of luck and keep us posted on your work!
