If your group is doing local social justice work, The Peace Development Fund offers Seeding the Movement grants to cover general operating costs.

If you happen to also be in western Massachusetts and have a leader of color, you can tap support from the Western Mass Transformation Fund. And if your group is youth-led and youth-oriented, you can apply to The Braiding New Worlds Fund. Past grantees include a Detroit-based effort to bring youth together to advocate for policy changes on issues from education to climate change.

Walmart’s Spark Good Local Grants support organizations that operate in a community that has a Walmart. The grants range from $250 to $5,000. It’s a great way to get a funds to start a new weaving project.

Created by USA for UNHCR, Refugee Congress and Welcoming America, the Sparking Change grant offers up to $10,000 in funding for projects led by refugees and other forcibly displaced people in Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, Washington and Wisconsin.

KidsGardening will award 50 youth garden programs with $500 in funding and a collection of gardening supplies. To apply, organizations must have 15 or more youth participating in its garden program and work in an under-resourced community.
