Get up to $10k for adult education projects

The Dollar General Literacy Foundation is supporting organizations that help adults with basic literacy, GED or high school equivalency preparation, or English language acquisition by offering up to $10,000 grants. You are eligible if you work for a registered nonprofit, library, or school providing educational services within 15 miles of a Dollar General store.

Get a grant to freshen up a community gathering space

Loweโ€™s Hometowns program will award $10 million in grants to fund 100 renovations and complete 1,700 improvement projects selected by its associates. Recipients have to be a nonprofit, a school, or a municipality. Among the eligible projects for consideration are community centers, outdoor spaces like parks, gardens, and playgrounds, and cultural spaces like theaters.

Get $30k to help your community rethink how to talk to each other

The JAMS Foundation and National Association for Community Mediation  have teamed up to give communities a two-year, $15,000 a year grant to get better at talking. Community leaders can use the money to teach conflict resolution skills and start productive conversations around issues of concern in their communities.

Help neighbors who have a problem with gambling

The National Council on Problem Gambling is supporting nonprofits to implement and expand prevention programs in their communities with grants ranging from $20,000-40,000. To be eligible, you need to be creating innovative prevention strategies or new platforms to raise community awareness and participation in tackling this issue.
